General Instructions for Presenters

Paper presentations:
To make the transition between sessions proceed smoothly, we are requesting that all presenters:

- arrive with your powerpoint file a jump/flash drive at least 30 minutes before your session begins (one technician will be present in each session room located by the podium and laptop computer)

-please include the last name of the senior author in your file name (rather than just 'MAC06 paper') - this will make it easier for the technician to load up your paper when you are ready to present

-Each room is equipped with a LCD projector and a PC laptop so you do not need to bring any of these items

Poster presentations:
Please arrive with your poster at least 15 minutes before the poster session begins. There will be a staff volunteer present to assist you with mounting your poster. We will have all necessary supplies available (pins, removable sticky tape, binder clips, etc) so no need to worry about bringing those supplies.

The location of your poster will be the number associated with your poster title in the program- these numbers will be posted on the poster boards so you can easily see where you are to go.

Remember- posters cannot be larger than 48" x 48".

Thank you everyone and we look forward to hearing your presentations. If you will not be the author presenting your paper, please forward this information to the presenter of your talk.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Eve Hargrave at ehargrav@illinois.edu.

In 2014, the joint meeting of the Midwest Archaeological Conference and the Illinois Archaeological Survey will be held in Champaign, Illinois and hosted by the Illinois State Archaeological Survey/Prairie Research Institute. In addition to the numerous cutting edge symposia, papers, and posters, there will be two receptions (Thursday- Illinois Archaeology; Friday – Midwest Archaeological Conference) and the meetings will conclude with the banquet on Saturday evening.  The guest speaker is Dr. Martin Carver from York University in the United Kingdom who will entertain those present with something completely different from Midwestern archaeology (click here for more details).

Similar to the 2006 MAC Annual Meeting held here in Urbana, we will present an archaeological slideshow during the receptions. In light of this, we invite and encourage all MAC members to send images for the slideshow. These images can be anything that you find interesting from both past and current archaeological endeavors: people, field projects, locations, historical images, and so on. If you have images to share, please contact Eve Hargrave at ehargrav@illinois.edu.
